Slumdog Millionaire

Oh man, so this movie was absolutely amazing. I saw it last night, made my dad drive me to the other side of town because that's the only place they're playing it. But really, if you haven't seen it yet you need to. It's one of the best films I've seen. Ever.
So, Slumdog Millionaire is the story of Jamal Malik, a boy who grew up in the slums with his brother Salim. When they are still very young, their mother is killed during one of the Muslim-Hindu riots. Jamal and Salim meet Latika during the incident and become close friends, calling themselves the three musketeers. Jamal falls in love with Latika and when they are separated while trying to escape from a gangster who trains slum children to be singing beggars, he makes it his soul purpose to find her again. Eventually Salim begins working for another gangster in Mumbai and Jamal as a "chai-walla" at an Indian call centre in Mumbai. In order to find Latika, Jamal goes on the Indian version of Who Wants to be a Millionaire, in hopes that she'll be watching. But when Jamal gets to the final question, the show and the Mumbai police suspect cheating. While being interrogated, Jamal explains the story behind his knowledge of the answer to each question. Jamal is allowed back on the show and he is finally reunited with Latika when he calls his brother's cell phone (which is in Latika's possesion) while using the Phone a Friend lifeline.

Tomorrow, tomorrow! I love ya! Tomorrow!

Finally! Second semester starts tomorrow! I'm so excited, I get to experience social interaction again!
So for the past couple of days I've been: avoiding my science fair project, watching That 70s Show religiously, bumming around with my sister and pets, and singing. A lot. It's been extremely boring, just because I got into this weird routine of waking up around 9, staring at my work, then eating and watching TV all day and feeling guilty about ignoring my homework. School is a beacon of hope for me.
Today I actually got to get out of the house, Carly and I went to belly dancing. Oh my gosh, I hadn't danced in weeks and I already know I'll be sore tomorrow. But it was definitely worth it, I love dancing, complete stress release.
Then we came home and I watched High School Musical for the fifty billionth time. She wanted to watch it to calm her nerves about school, since it starts with them returning from winter vacation. Ahh, I love that movie. It just makes you happy.
And, here I am now. I need to go to bed so I'm not a zombie the first day back. That would be bad. Well, toodles!

hullo.

It's finally the new year! I've made so much progress in every aspect of my life over the last year, and I'm very glad for that. I hope to start off clean when we get back to school. I've cleaned up my room completely so I now live in a much better environment, it allows me to breathe easier.
So, the past two days I spent the night at my grandmother's house because the furnace at my house was messed up. Thankfully it's all fixed now, I started to miss my bed, although it was nice to be able to play the Wii whenever I liked. And watch movies on a huge HD tv.
But, since my sister and I didn't really get to go anywhere while we were there, we decided last night when we were sitting at home, we wanted to go to a movie. So, we went to Cinemark to see Marley & Me. I won't give any of it away, but it was the saddest movie ever. I was very surprised. I think the entire theatre was crying, I had tears literally streaming down my face. It was very good, though Carly and I both loved it. Of course now we both had to read the book.
