SAY ANYTHING SELF-TITLED ALBUM IS COMING OUT NEXT YEAR!

Max Bemis just posted a blog to inform fans that "Say Anything," their new self titled album will be coming out this upcoming year. The band will begin recording this winter in L.A. Max explained to fans that "Say Anything" (originally planned to be titled "this is forever") is going to be a chance for him to resolve all the conflict brought up in previous Say Anything albums.
"if any person has followed our band, they understand our albums tell the story of a simple dude (me) and his evolution in life. this is the part where, having gone through his "idealistic--yet-furious-virgin" phase (baseball), young "drunk-angry-pukey-sex" phase (is a real boy), his "reaping - the - benefits - of - years - of - self - abuse - by - being - stuck - in - a - terrible -relationship" phase (in defense of the genre), he is finally confronted with the question of what the point of all of it was. what is the moral of the story? why be in a band? why try to "get" the girl? you spend years bitching or hurting yourself and others until you realize there is really something to fight for and something to fight against and being a man means drawing the line. that, my friends, is where the real adventure begins.

this album is self titled for a reason; it will take all the musical and lyrical themes of every say anything song, and attempt to resolve them and infuse them with something pure and direct."- Max Bemis (myspace blog)
Aside from this project, Max Bemis will also be releasing an album with his side project band Two Tongues. In the band with him is Chris Conley, lead singer of Saves the Day and object of admiration to Max Bemis. Two Tongues' self-titled debut will be out February 3, 2009.

Now my opinion on the matter: HOLY FUCKING SHIT I AM SO EXCITED, I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ALBUM FOR MONTHS!!!!
If you didn't know it already- Say Anything is my favorite band and Max Bemis is way up there on my "favorite people in the world" list, so this news is monumental to me. I'm so glad Max is writing an album that will try to resolve all the crap he's gone through. It's really meaningful to me, because I've gone through similar phases (not nearly as extreme though) and his music has always comforted me and made me feel not so alone. I'm finally at a time of peace in my life and I'm glad to see he's getting there too.

Squee! This is so exciting!
